Data lost after several months! September 9, 2010 LANPING DENG 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am working in a Blu-ray player manufacture company and now we are very frustrated with this Memorex 4x 25GB BD-R disc. They looked solid with good price and highly transparent face, and we recorded and played them without any problem for the first few weeks, in fact we have recommended this "budget" BD-R disc to some of our player customers. Within the last few weeks, we received several customer feedbacks on their recorded Memorex BD shown as "unknown disk" in our players. Thus we have spent many hours to analyze whether something has gone wrong with our player's laser head. But the reason came out as a surprise: it's not our player but the BD-R disc has gone wrong. More frustrating is, we have recorded many customer-provided test video/audio samples on these disks, and now some of them either cannot be read completely (partial video episodes failed to play) or cannot be played at all (shown as "unknow disk"). We tested those discs on many brands of blu-ray players available in our lab, inclduing sony ps3, s470, LGBD300/390, as well as our previous generations of players, all failed to read those discs. Be careful about this type of BD-R disc.
Didn't work for me September 7, 2010 Mark D. Miller (Woodland Park, Colorado) Didn't work with my new Plextor 6X Ext USB Bd Combo. Don't know if it was the drive or the disk but it does not see it as a recordable disk. To be fair I haven't been able to get anything written with the new drive. Tried Verbatim LTH disks also no go.
So not knowing will have to give it a 3 star.
Best Deal around for Blu-Ray BR-25 August 15, 2010 John N. Marzich (arroyo grande, ca United States) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
These were the lowest priced media out there but are well made and defective free from my experience.

Simply bad... August 10, 2010 Missing Piece 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Got these discs for backing up the data on my computer. The price was really low compared to other brads, and that is why I got them in the first place. BUT... ALL (and I mean, ALL, since I tried them all) the discs were NOT recordable. Every single time, I got the message saying there was an error with the disc. I must urge anybody who's looking into buying this NOT to buy this!!!
Completely Worthless August 6, 2010 ELinNM (New Mexico) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have had problems with Memorex media in the past, so when I saw their 15-pack 25GB BD-R media being sold for a low price, I convinced myself that maybe their quality htad improved. If anything, it has degraded further than the last time I tried their products. I did not think this was possible. Instead of a high failure rate with these BD-R, I am seeing a 100 percent failure rate.
The disc always allows enough writing to destroy it, but never completes or closes out the disc. It will either hang the computer or end with an error message about disc quality. Most of the time, it hangs the computer so badly that only a hard reset will allow one to escape.
I would only encourage people who have excess cash and get enjoyment from watching greenbacks sail away in the wind to buy these discs. My son always says, "you get what you pay for." In other words, if you spend less than normal for an item, expect below normal quality. With Memorex, I would advise that you get "less than you pay for." There should be a zero-egg rating.
