Piece of Crap September 8, 2010 Nirav Shah I purchased dual layer DVD+R, expecting to burn DVDs in original format. When I tried to burn the movie of 7.6 GB, it is not detecting the DVD as dual layer. At the end I end up using all the DVDs as single layer.
Good dvd's September 7, 2010 King of Kings These were a fine purchase for a good price. IDK why people say these are bad for i had them for a long time now and they work absolutely fine, i guess it depends on what u use them on.
Shame on Memorex! September 5, 2010 carole (Madison, AL, US) My usual media source switched from Verbatim to Memorex ('a better value for our customers'), so I gave them a try. Well, I tried burning them on 4 different DVD burners and, for the two burners that actually recognized them as media, got errors at the beginning (invalid media) of the 3 discs I tried. I took them back along with the Memorex single layer stack I bought at the same time. When the clerk saw what I was returning, he couldn't look me in the eye and didn't even bother asking why I was returning them. I have bought Memorex products in the past, but never again. If I wanted to give my money away, there are a lot of charities in my area accepting donations. I can understand the occasional product defect, but the extent of the defects in this product could not possibly have been unknown to Memorex and now, to all the merchants trying to dump them. To customers: Don't buy! To merchants: Stop selling this junk and return them to Memorex - your reputation is going down with them!
Works Fine For Me August 25, 2010 captemp Some reviews claimed these disks were of poor quality, well the worked just fine for me. Only one disk did not work and I'm pretty sure that was my fault. Great price, great value.
Fairly Good Product for the Price August 25, 2010 William S. Roush, Jr. (Milwaukee, Wisconsin United States) I had used Memorex DVD DL disks in the past with terrible results. There was one spindle I bought from a different supplier that had a 50+% failure rate, and I was fortunate to get it replaced. I switched to Verbatim, which had a better success/failure ratio but cost substantially more. After reading a lot of reviews, I decided to give Memorex another try to see if (as some had suggested) their quality control had improved. These blanks were reasonably priced, and the failure rate was much improved. Only 5 out of 50 failed (approximately 10%). I will probably buy this product again; however, I will be sure to buy from Amazon. They ship reasonably promptly, and they have an excellent return policy if you get stuck with a defective product. I suspect that a lot of the people who have had trouble with Memorex blanks are actually having hardware (old), firmware (outdated), or software problems.
